Description

Join Houston Audubon and Mary Ann Beauchemin, Senior Naturalist at the Nature Discovery Center for the bird survey at Willow Waterhole Conservation Reserve during Bird Week.
During the 2-hour count, expect to see as many as 30 different species. The survey begins in the parking lot of the Gathering Place at 5310 South Willow Drive at 7:00 AM.
The Willow Waterhole Conservation Reserve is a retention pond project of the Harris County Flood Control District. Consisting of 6 ponds and 290 acres, the greenspace is an excellent birding area within the City of Houston and just outside the southwest corner of Loop 610.

This event is kid friendly. The trail is partly paved, partly hard packed dirt with a steep uphill section.
